The Arlington junior high football team opened the 2024 fall season with a 30-0 home win against Yutan on Tuesday.
Evan Redding scored two Eagles touchdowns, including one on a 27-yard pass from Brantley Fullner at the end of the third quarter. Fullner scored on the ground, too, as did Jack Sharp.
Defensively, coach Jake Polk said Grant Monke, Redding, Nyle DeVries and Derek Franzluebbers were “stalwarts.” They combined for multiple sacks and tackles for a loss of yardage as Arlington moved to 1-0.
The Eagles next compete 5 p.m. Tuesday at Fort Calhoun.
