The Omaha Gross volleyball team kept its unbeaten start intact Thursday, besting the Arlington Eagles, 3-0.
Coach Erin Stosich's team lost 25-19, 25-23 and 25-16 on the road, falling to 3-4 overall this season. Its opposition, meanwhile, improved to 3-0.
The Eagles were most competitive against the Cougars during the second set. A Macy Wolf kill down the line on the left side gave her squad a 12-11 advantage. The lead grew to 15-11 when Jodi Jones landed an ace serve on Gross' side of the net.
After the Cougars battled back and tied the second race to 25, Arlington rebuilt a lead with Wolf's ace giving the Eagles an 18-16 edge. From there, though, the home team won the set and, eventually, the match.
AHS next hosts Fremont Bergan today at 7 p.m.
