Robert D. ‘Bob’ Boettger, age 94, of Fremont, formerly of Arlington, died Thursday, October 3, 2024, at Methodist Fremont Health.

Bob was born February 8, 1930, to Otto and Irene (Grau) Boettger in Omaha. He attended District 20 Grade School and graduated from Benson High School in 1948. Bob entered the Army February 5, 1951, taking his basic training at Fort Campbell, Kentucky. Upon completion of his basic he spent several months in Korea serving with the 3rd Division 7th Infantry Regiment. Upon his discharge from the service he operated a Grade A dairy northwest of Omaha.

He and Nadeen moved to the farm in the Arlington, Nebraska, area in 1973 where he grew, processed, and sold Penngift Crownvetch crowns and seed.

He married his wife of 57 years, Nadeen, on August 5, 1962. He was active in his church, the VFW, NRD, Gideons International and the Republican Party. Bob’s relationship with Jesus was one of the most important things in his life. He and Nadeen could regularly be seen reading the Bible and praying for their kids and grandkids in the morning at the breakfast table.

Bob loved socializing with people and is known for being a prolific question asker! You would often see him at various locations enjoying coffee with the guys.
