The Arlington Senior Legion baseball team went 1-1 in its two most recent games Sunday and Monday.
The Post 71 Eagles first beat Oakland-Craig 4-2 first before a 4-3 loss at Battle Creek on Monday. Pitcher Blaine Vogt struck out 10 batters during the loss.
“He stays even keel and attacks hitters,” coach TJ Stosich said.
Arlington scored the first three runs of the road game during the top of the fourth inning, but allowed three during the bottom half, too. Battle Creek then produced the game-winning run during the bottom of the sixth frame.
On Sunday, the Post 71 Seniors played a makeup game against Oakland and won by two runs. The matchup was originally set for May 31, but was postponed due to wet field conditions.
Tyler Ott earned the pitching win as Coach Stosich said he “had another good outing.”
The hurler allowed two Oakland runs during the first inning, but held it scoreless from there in victory.
The Post 71 Seniors next play 8 p.m. Friday at Columbus Lakeview after the Junior Legion game at 5:30.
