Stephanie “Diane” Gibb, 79 1/2 years, of Arlington, NE, passed away Thursday, October 10, 2024, at CHI Lakeside in Omaha, NE.
Diane, affectionately known as “Taffy” to her family and “Dster” to Lee and friends, was born on December 18, 1944, to Stephen and Mary (Hill) Costello in Omaha, NE. She grew up in Omaha and has lived in Arlington, NE for the past 24 years. Diane worked at Target for many years and later Anderson Merchandising. Diane also bartended at the Arlington VFW.
Diane was the matriarch in her family, the oldest of 8 children. She always put others before herself and took care of everyone that she knew.
In her early years, she loved motorcycles, scuba diving, hot air ballooning, traveling, and being part of the Junior Old Timers.
Diane was preceded in death by her parents; husband James Gibb; and grandson, Justin Baker.
She is survived by her partner Lee Stork of 24 years; children, Ed (Teri Raiche) Gibb, Susan (Jay) Baker, David (Joanie) Gibb, Corey (Tammy) Stork, Ryan “Bubba” Stork, and Tracy (Regan) Fuller; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, brothers, sisters, extended family and friends.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m., Thursday, October 17, 2024, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Arlington, NE. Pastor Rick Kanoy will officiate.
Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Family requests everyone wear casual attire to the service in memory of Diane.
Burial will take place at Mount Calvary Cemetery near Elkhorn, NE.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Arlington Fire & Rescue.
