West Point bests Arlington Legion baseball teams

Juniors fall 6-4 at home

The Arlington Senior and Junior American Legion baseball teams lost May 22 games to West Point.
The Post 71 Seniors fell to 1-1 with a 7-1 loss to the Bombers at the Washington County Fairgrounds. Coach TJ Stosich said his team's opposition hit the ball well despite strong pitching contributions from three Eagles.
“Luke Ott, Andy Misfeldt and Wes Monke did a good job out of the pen,” he noted.
The Arlington Juniors, meanwhile, lost a 6-4 ballgame to West Point. Post 71 scored first before the Bombers built a 4-1 advantage across the next four innings.
The Eagles erased that lead, however, with a three-run sixth frame. Jack Morgan and Tanner Kyllo earned spots on base first before Monke moved them to second and third.
A Luke Sharp swing produced the first run of the inning before both Kyllo and he scored on back-to-back passed balls, tying the score at 4-4.
The even ballgame lasted only shortly with West Point sending the baseball into left field for an RBI during the next half inning — the top of the seventh. The Bombers' sixth run came shortly thereafter on a passed ball, producing what became the final score, 6-4.
